Playing Career
Coach Callahan was a four year varsity starter for Seneca High School. He was apart of the very first Illinois Ambush team and played three summers with the AAU team. He was a two time Conference Champion and two time Regional Champion. Conlan finished 6th all-time in scoring at SHS with 1,256 points. Conlan won the Free Throw % award for SHS all four years. He was an All-Conference player two years, All-Area two years, Morris Daily Herald Player of the Year, and 3rd team All-State. Conlan was voted as an Interstate 8 All-Star and a Missouri Valley All-Star. After high school, Conlan earned scholarships to pursue his college degree and play basketball at Lincoln College, Lindenwood-Belleville University, and Mount Marty College. He began at Lincoln College, a Division 2 Junior College located in Lincoln, Illinois. He started eight games his freshman year, and sophomore year, started every game and was a 2nd Team All-Conference selection. He also earned the coaches award, and led the team in scoring free throw % and 3pt % at 43%. He transferred to Lindenwood-Belleville University located in Belleville, IL, a Division 1 NAIA where he started 7 games and made 1st Team All Champions of Character for his conference. He finished up his career at Mount Marty College, a Division 2 NAIA school located in Yankton, South Dakota where he earned his degree in Recreation Management/Business. He was team captain, finished second on the team in scoring, first in free throw %, also finished with an All-Conference Honorable Mention, and the Lancer Award.
About
Conlan is from Seneca, Illinois. He is the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. He has been around basketball his whole life and been apart of the Ambush Basketball Academy since he was playing as a young high schooler. He coached an Ambush 15U team for one summer, and has run many camps and lessons in South Dakota, Illinois and Iowa. He played under great coaches such as Garrett Callahan, Brennan Callahan, Russ Witte, Pat Lepper, Tyrone Johnson, Cody Schilling and Dan Tharp. Conlan will be coaching the Freshman Men's Basketball team this upcoming winter at SHS.
Playing Career
Earned a scholarship to Lewis University located in Joliet, Illinois where he earned a degree in Business and played basketball all four years and was a Sweet 16 NCAA tournament seed.
Coaching Career
AAU- Illinois Ambush, and Sandwich High School Varsity Head Coach for four years. Helped turn the program around into a real contender in the Interstate 8 Conference.
